SUMMARY:Holiday Leadership & Campcraft - Strichen
DESCRIPTION:Holiday Leadership and Campcraft are two separate certificates required by any Company in the BB wishing to take young people away overnight.\nAberdeen and Buchan Battalions are running both course simultaneously to equip everyone with all the qualifications for taking young people away overnight (apart from expedition). The Holiday Leadership qualification is required for any type of overnight stay including a sleepover in your church hall. Campcraft is required in addition for any kind of residential activity involving staying in tents. Due to the way the day is structured it is not unfortunately possible to attend only for one certificate. \nWho is the course for?\nThe course is aimed at all BB leaders wishing to take young people away overnight. In order to hold the Holiday Leadership certificate you must have previously completed Basic Training\, YLT or KGVI and be registered as a Lieutenant or Captain.

SUMMARY:Youth Leader Training Part 2 - Ellon
DESCRIPTION:Youth Leader Training (YLT) is the initial training for new leaders in the Boys’ Brigade\, renewal training for existing leaders and training for those in sections that they would like some additional experience in.\nThe course is a requirement (unless registering only as a helper) for all new leaders in the BB and covers all initial areas of training that are likely to be of use to new leaders. Everyone attending the course must be registered as a leader in the BB (which will require Disclosure checks) and have completed the e-modules on OBM before attending the course. This is all mandatory prior to YLT. \nWho is the course for? \nThe course is for all new leaders in the BB\, and is designed to complement the e-modules on OBM. Existing leaders in the BB are encouraged to attend the course as refresh-er training and will be more than welcome to attend.

SUMMARY:Safeguarding & Managing Risk
DESCRIPTION:Safeguarding is designed to enable participants to protect children and young people by raising awareness of Safeguarding and Child Protection issues and to know their responsibilities in this area. Managing Risk covers the requirements to create a safe environment for children and young people and ensure that activities are organised and delivered safely.\nThe session builds on the e-learning modules that must be completed prior to attending the course. Key areas will be revisited and expanded upon. The session is about ensuring that the Boys’ Brigade is a safe space for all.
